Principle:

Scald Protection:

The SP95 will eliminate flow when the thermostatic actuator senses 37°C (98.6 °F) and will remain open as long as the discharge water temperature is above 32°C(89.6°F). In standard flow, the actuator will sense ambient temperature to initiate flow and then responds to water temperature, in reverse flow, the actuator will sense water temperature.

Freeze Protection:

A thermostatic element insides the valve sense temperature and if falls below 1°C (33.8°F) the valve modulates open allowing water to flow. The valve will remain open as long as the water flowing by the sensor is less than 4°C (39.2°F). However, when the water flowing by the sensor becomes higher than 4°C (39.2°F) the valves closed.
